Once upon a time,

the king of the Tritons gave his daughter Oskania a special book...

A children's guide to the shapeshifters of our world...

Elf Shapeshifters and Foxes

Elves are great wizards and wise beings, but when the full moon rises high, some of them can turn into... foxes! Yes, really! They shed their long cloaks and transform into quick, clever creatures with bushy tails. Fox-elves can run silently through the forest, play hide-and-seek with the moon, and even trick other animals as if they were never wizards at all.

Dwarf Shapeshifters and Rams

Dwarves are sturdy and strong, but when the mountains call, some of them turn into… rams! Yes, big, tough rams with curly horns and thick fur. Ram-dwarves can climb the steepest cliffs, headbutt boulders out of the way, and stand strong against any storm. They’re as steady as the mountains themselves!

Even in their ram form, they’re just as stubborn and brave as ever—nothing can stop a determined ram-dwarf!

Goblin Shapeshifters and Rat

Goblins are sneaky and clever, but when the night is quiet and the shadows grow long, some of them turn into... rats! Yes, little, scampering rats with twitching noses and long tails. Rat-goblins can squeeze through the tiniest holes, scurry through dark tunnels, and hide in the smallest corners where no one can find them. They’re quick, tricky, and always up to some mischief!

But don’t be fooled! Even as tiny rats, they still have the brains of a goblin, always plotting their next sneaky trick!

Orc Shapeshifters and Bulls

Orcs are strong and brave, but did you know some can turn into powerful bulls? When the earth rumbles and the wind blows just right, these orcs transform, growing hooves and horns! Bull-orcs charge through fields with strength unmatched, stomping and snorting as if they were always wild beasts. They’re not only tough, but also fearless—perfect for a stampede or two!

But don’t worry, they still remember how to be orcs, even when they're big, mighty bulls!

Humans: Shapeshifting into Feline Predators

Humans, those mysterious creatures from ancient myths, are said to have had the ability to transform into fierce, cat-like predators. No one knows for sure if humans ever really existed, but the old stories tell of them prowling through the night with sharp claws, glowing eyes, and the grace of a hunter. When they shifted, they became sleek and swift, able to stalk their prey in silence.

Though humans may have vanished long ago—or maybe never existed at all—the legends of their feline transformations still live on in the tales told today.

Triton Shapeshifters: From Mermaids to Landwalkers

Tritons are graceful swimmers of the sea, but did you know that all the female Tritons can transform when they step onto land? That's right! As soon as their tails touch the shore, they change, growing legs to walk on land. They can explore the forests and mountains just like any other landwalker.

But once they return to the ocean, their shimmering tails appear again! These Triton women are full of magic and surprises, whether on land or beneath the waves!

But not everything in the book was true...
